Can I do my own DOT annual inspection?

Yes, if you meet the inspector qualifications in 49 CFR 396.19 and your vehicle isn't required to go through a state inspection program. The carrier may inspect its own vehicles under 396.17(d), but it must keep proof of the inspector's qualifications for as long as they inspect, plus one year.
